How to reset your gut after the long weekend
The Tuesday-after feeling
You know the one. The long weekend was full — barbecues, late nights, maybe a few too many things you don't usually eat. Monday felt fine. Tuesday, your stomach has other plans.
This isn't a sign that something's gone wrong. It's your gut telling you it's ready to go back to its rhythm — and the good news is, getting there doesn't require a juice cleanse, a detox tea, or three days of eating nothing but broth.
Why the "just do a cleanse" advice misses the point
A lot of post-weekend advice treats bloating like something to punish out of your system. In Ayurvedic terms, that approach usually backfires — a sudden, extreme shift asks even more of a digestive fire (agni) that's already working overtime. What actually helps is closer to the opposite: steady, gentle, consistent meals that give your gut something predictable to work with again.
Your gut runs on rhythm, the same way sleep does. Skip the extremes, and let routine do the resetting.
Four things that actually help
Hydrate before you eat. Rich, salty holiday food pulls water out of your system more than people expect. A glass of water first thing tends to matter more than anything you eat that day.
Add fiber gradually, not all at once. A sudden pile of raw vegetables can bloat a gut that's already inflamed. Cooked, warmly spiced fiber is easier to work with than a big raw salad on day one.
Walk after meals. Ten to twenty minutes of movement after eating is one of the simplest ways to support digestion — no equipment, no plan required.
Return to a normal eating schedule. Irregular mealtimes over a long weekend can throw off your gut's internal clock. Getting back to regular meal timing, even before you're back to "regular" eating, helps more than most people expect.
Where VegHeads fits into your reset
None of this requires a special reset kit. It just requires meals that are easy to make and gentle on a gut that's asking for a break — which is exactly what our sauce mixes are for.
Zesty Arrabbiata — beet and tomato with a gentle warmth, an easy way to bring cooked, fiber-rich vegetables back into rotation without overwhelming your system.
Cheezy Mac — comforting and familiar, built on a warmly spiced chickpea flour base that's gentle to prepare and gentle to digest.
Velvety Alfredo — a lighter, calming dish for the days you want something simple and easy on your stomach.
If Tuesday-after-the-long-weekend has become a familiar feeling, our Glow Starter 7-Day Reset was built for exactly this — a structured, food-first week that helps you get back to your rhythm without extremes.
The long weekend is behind you. Getting your gut back on track doesn't have to be complicated — it just has to be consistent.
